4 1/4' Symons Shorthead Cone Crusher

This crusher is a 1979 model, grease seal arrangement and equipped with a Seegmiller aftermarket hydraulic clamping, adjusting and clearing system. The adjustment ring sits level and with good height. The mainframe liner has some wear spots ( small) which could be plated for temporary repair. The arms appear very good with no signs of cracking or previous repair. We have had the head and shaft assembly removed to assess the interior of the crusher. The adjustment ring threads are about 65% of new, the socket liner is unused, the inner bushing appears very good, the head ball has some marks but wear is minimal and in our opinion the head ball is in good usable condition. The head wipers are in good condition. The coarse style bowl appears very good and the threads are excellent. The floating feed hopper cone section is worn and a new conical section should be fabricated to repair this item. We have checked the backlash of the gears by moving the sheave back and forth and it seems excellent. The motor is 200 hp 575 volt 1185 rpm.

The unit was removed from service to be replaced by a new standard configuration portable crushing plant. It is reported to be in excellent condition throughout and can be work ready with minimal preparation. The former owner had started to install the crusher on a portable chassis but did not complete the installation as the decision was made to change to a standard configuation.
